How to Register

Registration can be submitted by completing the online form above. Registration must be completed by 31 January 2021 to take advantage of the costs savings applicable to the Early Bird Rate.

Registration fees are quoted in Australian dollars and are inclusive of 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST).

*To be eligible for the retired or hardship rates, you must be unemployed for at least 6 months. Numbers are limited, committee will make final decision.

**To be eligible for the student rates, you must be a current student enrolled full time. Evidence of your current enrolment status must be presented on site when you collect your registration. Numbers are limited.

Method of Payment

Registration can only be confirmed once payment is received.

Payment can be made by any of the following methods:

  • Credit card: Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted. If you are making a credit card payment from a country outside Australia, for security reasons you must first advise your banking institution of the impending charge and authorise them to allow the charge to Australia to go through. Please note that charges to your credit card will appear as being from "ICMS Australasia Pty Ltd" on your bank statement.
  • Bank transfer: Please include your surname and invoice number in the transfer and email the transfer receipt (remittance) to the Secretariat
  • Cheque / Bank draft: Made payable to the Bowen Basin Symposium 2020. Payment must be made in Australian dollars and free of all charges.

Payment Deadlines

Early Bird Rates Close: 31 January 2021

Registrations received up to the 31 January 2021 deadline must be paid in full in order to receive the early bird discounted registration rate.

Registration Cancellation Policy

Deadline: 29 June 2021

Cancellations must be notified in writing (e-mail is sufficient) to the Symposium Secretariat. Cancellations made by 29 June 2021 will result in a full refund less $150 to cover administration costs. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person by 29 June 2021 without incurring any cost penalty. Refunds for cancellations received after 29 June 2021 will only be made in exceptional circumstances. The Organising Committee reserves final decision on a case by case basis for granting a cancellation in extenuating circumstances. Failure to obtain the appropriate visa to travel to Australia does not constitute a refund. It is recommended that travel insurance be secured personally upon registering. The Symposium Secretariat must be advised in writing of any alterations or transfers of registrations. Due to the nature of the Symposium the committee reserves the right to refuse any non-industry participants from registering, the committee’s decision is final.

All best endeavours will be made to present the program as printed on this website. The Symposium and its agents reserve the right to alter without prior notice, any of the arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating to the meeting, for any cause beyond its reasonable control. The Organising Committee and the Symposium Organisers are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such alteration. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Organising Committee and the Symposium Organisers do not accept responsibility for loss of monies caused by delays. Participants are advised to take out personal travel insurance and to extend their policy to cover personal possessions. The Symposium does not cover individuals against cancellations of bookings or theft or damage to belongings.

Symposium Postponement

In the event of a postponement all registrations will automatically be transferred to the new Symposium dates. All components of your registration including accommodation bookings, Welcome Reception RSVP and Symposium Dinner RSVP will also be transferred. If you are unable to attend on the new dates, you may contact the Symposium Secretariat to request a transfer of your registration to a colleague at no cost, or request a cancellation and refund which will incur a $150 administration fee up until the Registration Cancellation Deadline.

Symposium Cancellation

In the event of the cancellation of the Symposium, all registrations and associated components of attendance will be cancelled and amounts refunded in full.
